A graduate of Houston High School Frances Kay Stokes, 64, of Rogersville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, from injuries of an automobile accident.
Frances was born Oct. 26, 1941, in Houston, Mo., to Lyle and Effie Gross Deck. She was a graduate of Houston High School and had attended SMSU (now Missouri State University) in Springfield.
She was an operator for St. John’s Answering Service in Springfield.
Frances is survived by her son, Ronald Stokes and wife, Ronda, of Rogersville; one brother, Jimmy Deck and wife, Patty, of Arizona; five sisters, Mary Willis, Cedar Creek, Betty Bennett and husband, Dale, of Houston, Linda Durham and husband, Gary, of St. Louis, Sue Silveus and husband, David, of Houston, and Diann Clark and husband, Jerry, of Rogersville; two grandchildren, Morgan and Ryan Stokes, of Rogersville; 13 nieces and 12 nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Bobby, Russell and Johnnie Deck.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Preston-Marsh Funeral Home in Rogersville with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Wolford Cemetery, Houston.
