Evelyn Louise Croney, 65

A life long resident of the Ava area Evelyn L. Croney, the daughter of Elmer Smith and Pearl (Heath) Cook, was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Bertha, Mo., and departed this life Aug. 3, 2006, at the age of 65.

Evelyn was a life long resident of the Ava area. On June 20, 1958 Evelyn and William W. Croney were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union three children were born. Evelyn was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith.

Evelyn enjoyed fishing, quilting and loved being with her family. She delighted in caring for her great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, and her husband, William, in 1996.

She is survived by her mother, Pearl Cook, Ava; three children, Tammy Sanders, West Plains, Rick Croney, Ava, and Angela Lane, Clarksville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Robbie Lane, Clayton Presson, Ronnie Croney, Ricky Croney, Tracy Fitzgerald and William Croney; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held Monday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m., in the Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Loftin officiating. Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery. The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
