Resident of Ava community for close to a year Russell Cleon Hess, son of Cleon Ray Hess and Mildred Marie (Payte) Hess was born on August 17, 1965 in Malad, Idaho and departed this life on July 26, 2006 in Ava at the age of 40.
Russell was resident of Ava community for close to a year moving from Las Vegas, Nev. He was a technician in air conditioning and heating. He was very gifted in mechanical work. He had a joy in his work and loved that challenge. He was an Army veteran, having served from 1983 to 1987.
On July 3, 1999 Russell and Doreen LaPardi were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nev. He attended the Ava Assembly of God Church and had formerly also attended the Assembly of God Church in Las Vegas.
Russell enjoyed music and working on his computer. He loved and adored being with his children and all his family.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Cleon Hess.
He is survived by his wife, Doreen of the home in Ava; two sons, Benjamin Russell Hess, Ava, and Joseph Newlin, Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Francine “Frankie” Hanks, Ava, and Melinda LaPardi, Las Vegas, Nev.; one grandson, Riley Newlin, Las Vegas, Nev.; his parents, Cleon Ray and Mildred Marie Hess, Tremonten, Utah; two sisters, Morgan Sullivan and Vioma Anderson, both of Utah; two brothers, Fred Hess, Utah, and Nathan Hess, Las Vegas; his grandmother, “Viola” Payte, Mount Ida, Ark.; and many other relatives and friends.
Services were held Saturday, July 29, at 2 p.m., at the Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Pastors Gary Stigall and Bill Hudson officiating.
Cremation followed the services. The family requests memorials as a love offering to the family. Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
