A resident of Ava for 10 years Richard Worth Zartman, the son of Ferdie J. Zartman and Dessie Lovina (Rickel) Zartman, was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Macy, Ind., and departed this life July 28, 2006 at the age of 76.
Richard was a resident of Ava for 10 years. He served his country during the Korean War and was employed as maintenance supervisor for a public school before he retired.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jay and Carl Zartman.
He is survived by one sister, Mildred Krutzer, of the state of Illinois: a niece, Linda Zartman, Quinton, Okla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
