Of Springfield Martha Jane Johnson, age 88, Springfield, born March 1, 1918 to the late John and Mathersa (Haynes) Davenport in Page, Neb., passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in James River Care Center.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Johnson on March 18, 1937 and to this union four children were born. Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening especially peony flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Her survivors include loving husband of 69 years, L. Raymond; son, Lloyd Edward Johnson and wife, Joyce, of Ava; daughters Sue Swearengin of Overland Park, Kan., Linda Johnson of Covington, La., and Becky McBride, of Springfield; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; six siblings and their families; numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 29, at 11 a.m. at Thieme-Shadel Funeral Service at Rivermonte Chapel with burial to follow in Dogwood Cemetery, in Douglas County.
