He was born in Chadwick Raymond Hawkins, 67, of Ozark, passed away Friday, July 7, 2006, from injuries sustained following an accident on his farm in Douglas County. He was born May 18, 1939, in Chadwick, the son of William and Ota (Pruett) Hawkins. In 1960 he and Helen Huff were united in marriage. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Hawkins was a faithful member of Roy Union Church where he served as superintendent. He had retired from Hagale Industries as plant manager, and continued to be a hard worker until the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; a daughter, Rayla Johns and husband, Scott, Ozark; a grandson, Ty Johns; two sisters, Juanita Collins, and Dorothy Wallace and husband, Jerry, all of Nixa; a sister-in-law, Trellis Hawkins, Ozark; nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Hursh and husband, Bill, and Madeena Bray and husband, Ed; a brother, Roscoe Hawkins; a brother-in-law, Allen Collins; and a nephew, Eddie Bray.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Brother Jerry Vonallmen and Robert Hall officiating. Burial followed in Goodhope Cemetery.
