L.C. was born July 15, 1933, to Lawrence and Ella Stith, in Coffeyville, Kan. He moved from Tulsa, Okla., to Gainesville in 1987.
He was active in the Gainesville Lions Club and a board member of Century Bank, Gainesville. His first love was Ava Victory Academy where he served on the board and as treasurer.
He was a transportation consultant for a freight company, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He attended Ava Full Gospel Church.
L.C. was a very generous and loving son to Ella and a faithful brother to L.E. Stith, of Alamo, Texas, and sister Daphne Tiger, of Cerritos, Calif.
He is also survived by his son, Russell Stith and wife, Cheri, San Antonio, Texas; and their three children, Christina, Mary Caroline and Sutherland.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation was held from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at Rose Hill Funeral Home, Tulsa, Okla., with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Tulsa.
