A resident of the area since 1999 Hazel Elnor Renner, the daughter of Fred Z. Selden and Rosa T. (Edgecombe) Selden, was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Pitcox, Alberta, Canada, and departed this life July 10, 2006, in her home at the age of 93.
Hazel was a resident of the area since 1999 moving here from Flat Rock, Mich. On Dec. 21, 1929 Hazel and Theodore P. Renner were united in marriage in Cadillac, Mich. and to this union three children were born. Hazel was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and was a wonderful seamstress.
Hazel was a member of the Hope Baptist Church in Romulus, Mich. and in her earlier life she taught Sunday school to small children and loved being with her church family and her own family.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore; one son, Durrell Glenn Renner; two brothers; two sisters; and one great-great grandson, Justin.
She is survived by two daughters, Dolores Keach, Squires, and Loretta May Niesen, Flat Rock, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Cremains will be interred at a later date and time in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Cadillac, Mich.
Memorials may be made to Wolfen Library for the Blind in Jefferson City, in care of the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.
