Edward D. Arnold, 74

Born April 29, 1932, in West Plains Edward D. Arnold, Batesville, Ark., died Saturday, July 1.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Desha Baptist Church with Bro. Troy Sharp officiating.

Burial was in Kyler Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville, Ark.

Born April 29, 1932, in West Plains, he was the son of John H. and Flora Belle (Mitchell) Arnold.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He was a member of Desha Baptist Church. He loved to fish and en-joyed tinkering with motors. He was a great improviser. He loved to read non-fiction; loved to talk and had a good sense of humor. He sold real estate for United Farm Agency.

Mr. Arnold was a greeter at church and always visited people in nursing homes and the hospital.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Vera (Goodrich) Arnold, of the home; a daughter, Kathy McSpadden, Batesville, Ark.; a sister, Kathryn S. Rieger, Lakeside, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Megan McSpadden; two step-grand-children, Amanda McSpadden and Joe McSpadden; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gwendolyn Arnold; and brothers, John D. Arnold and Richard M. Arnold.
