Born May 2, 1916, in Ava Clifton K. Bunyard, 90, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006, at his residence in Greenwood, Ind.
He was born May 2, 1916, in Ava, to Anthony and Minnie (Osborn) Bunyard. He married Natalie P. (Cravens) Bunyard on March 3, 1946, in Independence. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Glenda L. Konopka, of Greenwood, Ind.; a sister, Reba Johnson, Ava; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lauren Konopka, both of Greenwood, Ind.; and 19 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Virgil, Gordon, Hobart, Herbert and Leonard; and by a sister, Gladys Larkin.
Clifton worked 40 years (1937-1977) as lead inspector at the TWA Engine Overhaul Base in Kansas City. In 1988 he moved from the Kansas City area to Greenwood, Ind. A veteran of World War II, he served as Army staff sergeant with the Corps of Engineers in France and England. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, a member of the TWA Employees Club, and a member of the United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park in Kansas City.
