One of seven children of Frank Treat and Bessie Snyder Treat Inez Z. Herd passed away April 29, 2006 at her home after a short illness, at the age of 79.
She was one of seven children of Frank Treat and Bessie Snyder Treat. She married Troy Herd on Jan. 10, 1944, in Mtn. Home, Ark. She had four children — three boys and one girl.
She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Herd, and her husband.
Surviving are her sons, J.C. Herd and his wife, Pat, and Tim Herd Craig and his wife, Vivian; one daughter, Mary Jane Bruffett and her husband, Larry; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Herd; five sisters and one brother, Franklin Treat, Martha West, Laura Lawson, Edna Lawson, Lula Hechler and Helen Shelton.
She also had eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and Gunner whom she raised from a baby and loved as her own; many friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was loved by all and worked for her church.
The funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Springfield. Burial will be in Brashers Cemetery.
