Born on July 4, 1909, in Taney County. Jewel Marsh, age 96 of Aldrich, Mo., was born on July 4, 1909 to Cornelius Buckvest Dean and Amanda (Johnson) Dean at Brown Branch in Taney County.
She went to her heavenly reunion on Friday, April 21, 2006 at her Aldrich home.
Mrs. Marsh had returned to Missouri in August 2004, after a 70-year absence. She moved to California in 1936 where she met and married Verbie A. Marsh in 1945. They resided there until his death in 1972. She was a former resident of Yucaipa, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Roy and Roscoe Dean, two sisters, Stella A. Baird, formerly of Willard, and D. Hazel Dixon of St. Louis, formerly of Brown Branch.
Surviving are three nieces, Mary Etta Staley of the home, Ella Jean Heigham and husband Lew, of St. Louis, and Barbara A. Dooly and husband Ron, of Rhome, Texas; two great-nephews, Tre Heigham and wife Melissa, St. Louis, and Travis Dooly and wife Melissa of Rhome, Texas; four great-nieces, Angelia Gillis and husband Glen, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Juanita Heigham and husband Yuki Kunisada of Nagoya, Japan, Jennifer Grand and husband John, of Aldrich, and Rhonda Dooly of Grapevine, Texas; three great-great-nephews, Owen Heigham, St. Louis, and Braden and Dakota Grant, Aldrich; and one great-great-niece, Emily Heigham of St. Louis.
A celebration of her life was held Monday, April 24, at 6 p.m. in the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar with the Rev. Frank Childers officiating. Burial will be on Friday, April 28, at the Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif.
