Dennis grew up in Ava Dennis Mac Goforth, 57, Brookline, was born Oct. 24, 1948. The son of Jack and Vernita Goforth, he went home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 11, 2006, joining friends and family gone on before.
Growing up in Ava, he moved to Springfield where he attended Central High School. He was united in marriage to Dianna R. McLaughlin on Dec. 17, 1966. To this union were born three children: Teresa, Rebecca and Matt.
Dennis spent his life building homes in the Nixa/Springfield area. He was devoted to the Lord Jesus and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Okla. in 2000. He was a loving husband and wonderful father.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Dianna;
daughters, Teresa L. and husband, Joe Mayer, and Rebecca M. and husband, Jay Moore; a son, Matt and fiance, Jaime Lang;
grandsons, Joseph D. Mayer and William E. Mayer;
a granddaughter, Rianna E. Mayer; his mother, Vernita Clem; a brother, Nyal Goforth and wife, Gracie; sisters, Pauline Thompson and husband, Chuck, and Kathy Arbuckle and husband, Ronnie; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home chapel, Springfield. Burial followed in Delaware Cemetery, in Christian County.
