Born on July 27, 1918, in Girdner Clifford Walker, son of Rufus Walker and Ella (Harris) Walker, was born on July 27, 1918, in Girdner, Mo. (Douglas County) and departed this life on April 16, 2006, in his home in Ava with his family surrounding him, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 19 days.
He was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. On July 26, 1946 Clifford and Naomi Elizabeth Turner were united in marriage at Mtn. Home, Ark., and to this union one daughter was born. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Ava. Clifford loved and adored his family.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruby Walker and Lula Dye; one brother, Sammie Walker; and a grandson, Jason Byerley.
He is survived by his wife of 59 _ years, Naomi, of the home in Ava; one daughter and husband, Sue and Roy Byerley, Rogersville; a grandson and wife, Matthew Walker and Marissa Byerley, Nixa; a great-granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Byerley and her mother Vicki Byerley, Ozark; one sister and husband, Alice and Clayton Rippee, Ava; one brother and wife, Leroy and Nancy Walker, Springfield; and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside service was held Wednesday, April 19, at 10 a.m., at the Smith Cemetery, Rogersville, with the Rev. Nolan Carrier officiating.
