Daughter of Ted Pellham and Beulah (Silvey) Pellham Edna Jones, daughter of Ted Pellham and Beulah (Silvey) Pellham, was born Jan. 27, 1942, in Longrun. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Shelia, in Gassville, Ark. on April 10, 2006, at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 13 days.
Edna lived in Ozark County most of her life. At an early age she was converted to Christ and was a member of the Longrun General Baptist Church.
She worked at the courthouse as deputy collector under Howard Haskins for seven years, then was elected collector and served Ozark County for another 20 years before retiring in March 2003.
Edna enjoyed working in her yard and garden for hours on end. She especially loved being with her family at gatherings, where the children fondly called her Granny Ed.
On Dec. 29, 1972, Edna and Robert Jones were married in Wasola, by the Rev. Elza McFarland.
Edna is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home in Noble; a daughter, Shelia White and husband Jim, of Gassville, Ark.; two granddaughters, Jeana Dresner and husband Matt, of West Plains, and Lisa Prahl and husband David, of Cotter, Ark.; three great-grandsons, Caleb and Lucas Dresner, of West Plains, and Joshua Prahl, of Cotter, Ark.; three sisters, Joan Wilson Pond and husband Charlie, of Theodosia, Ethel Jones and husband Connie, of Thornfield, and Sharon Turner and husband, John, of Theodosia; two brothers, Keith Pellham and wife Mildred, of Ava, and Garland Pellham and wife Joyce, of Wasola.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ovid Pellham, and infant brother, Loyd Pellham.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) in Clinkingbeard Chapel, Gainesville, with the Revs. Oren Alcorn and Tom Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Longrun Cemetery.
The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society or hospice in care of the funeral home. Services are conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
