Son of Monroe and Eulah (Friend) Hampton Larry Dean “Mac” Hampton, 68, died March 25, 2006.
He was born Feb. 22, 1938, the son of Monroe and Eulah (Friend) Hampton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Jodee Cannon, and one brother, William “Pete” Hampton.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; one daughter, Rhonda Bell and her husband, Duane, of Bull Shoals, Ark.; three sons, Brad Hampton and wife, Atonya, of Ava, Tom Cantrell and wife, Maria, of Theodosia, and Tim Cantrell and wife, Melissa, of Graff; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Cutbirth and husband, Dale, of Theodosia, and Judy Merrell and husband, Robby, of Springfield.
Mac owned and operated Hampton Feed Mill. After his retirement, he and Peggy liked to travel and spend the winters in Arizona. He also liked to antique and had a number of other hobbies.
Mac was a Christian for many, many years and his faith sustained him and blessed others during his illness.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, with Lynn Jennings and Jerry Ratterree officiating. Interment was in Lutie Cemetery.
