Floyd Lee Lamb, 70

Born June 16, 1935, in Girdner, Mo. Floyd Lee Lamb was born June 16, 1935, in Girdner, Mo. He was the son of James Arthur Lamb and Florence Mae (Mallonee) Lamb. Floyd departed this life on March 25, 2006, at the age of 70 years.

On Dec. 31, 1955, Floyd and Patricia (Pat) D. Frenger were united in marriage in Elizabeth City, N.C. Floyd and Pat were blessed with two children. Floyd enjoyed hunting, and traveling the country with Pat. Floyd was a member of the Red Bank Baptist Church and the Fleet Reserves.

Floyd was a resident of the Ava area for the past 13 years, moving here from Hudson, Fla. Floyd was a retired Navy veteran, serving his country in both the Korean War and Viet Nam.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Willa Mae Francis and Lois Kay Norman; and four brothers, Roy Everett Lamb, Junior Ray Lamb, Robert Wayne Lamb and James Arthur Lamb Jr.

He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Pat; a son, Floyd Lee Lamb Jr. and wife Sherry, Ava; a daughter, Debra Darlene Summers and husband Sam, Seymour; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leota Grant, Gallatin, Tenn., Dorothy Lou Alexander, Middleburg, Fla., and Judith Ann Zernicke, Ava; one brother, Chester Frank Lamb, Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Pastor Les Hallmark officiating. Interment followed in the Murray Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of America.
