Born Dec. 29, 1914 at Sweden, Mo. Clyde Milton Fleetwood, son of Robert and Ethel (Spurlock) Fleetwood, was born Dec. 29, 1914 at Sweden, Mo., and passed away March 25, 2006 at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 26 days.
On July 20, 1935 Clyde and Doris Stout were united in marriage and to this union three children were born. Clyde was a lifelong resident of the Ava area where he was a dairy and beef farmer. Clyde enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, and canning.
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his parents; two brothers, Marion and Carl; and two sisters, Beulah and Alta.
Survivors include three children, Jim and wife, Alice Fleetwood, and Ronnie and wife, Phyllis Fleetwood, all of Ava, and Mrs. Lanna and husband, Dick Strong, of Prairie Village, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Bosch and Eric, Melissa Drummond and Joe, Junior Fleetwood and Sharon, Jeff Fleetwood and Dawn, Jalanna Cobb, Joseph Fleetwood, Jarrod Fleetwood, Scott Fleetwood and Sandy, Erin Lansdown and Tim, and Kenny Fleetwood and Kristin; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28 at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating, with interment following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests memorials to the Alzheimers Association.
