Mickey L. Watts, 69

Passed away at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava Mickey L. Watts, 69, Ava, passed away Friday, March 17, 2006, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava.

She was born Mary 14, 1936, at St. Louis, to John Leroy and Hazel Lee (McGill) Ivey. On June 4, 1965, she married Richard Joseph Watts, and to this union two children were born.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Many times, she was known to have helped strangers by taking them into her home. She had great compassion not only for people, but also for animals.

Mickey was preceded in death by both parents, her stepmother, Ruby, and 19 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of the home; one adopted son, Jim Byrd and wife, Jan, of Wasola; one adopted daughter, Carlie Chandler and husband, Richard, of Theodosia; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Loyd L. Ivey and wife, Debbie, of Chandler, Ariz., Wayne Ivey and wife, Linda, of Zalma, and David Ivey and wife, Tina, of Jackson; five sisters, Toni Boyer and husband, Danny, of Squires, Patricia Pigg, of Farmington, Wanda Carron, Provo, Utah, Wilma Williams, Bourbon, and Cathy Bess, of Ava; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Ava, with the arrangements under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ava.
