Daughter of Frank Funk and Clara (Duffin) Funk Frances Johns, the daughter of Frank Funk and Clara (Duffin) Funk, was born Dec. 18, 1919, in Rock Island, Ill., and departed this life Feb. 25, 2006, in Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava. Frances was 86 years old.
Frances attended school at Walnut Grove School in Illinois. On March 14, 1938, Frances and Neil Harold Johns were united in marriage in Davenport, Iowa, and to this union a daughter was born. Frances was a homemaker and enjoyed word search puzzles. She loved animals, especially horses, dogs and cats.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, her husband, Neil and her daughter, Mary Ellen.
She is survived by one brother, Donald Funk, and a sister, Rose Mary Schaffer, both of Savanna, Ill.; several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Shirley Riley, Peggy Williams, Lee and Marsha Aborn, all of Ava.
Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ava Cemetery with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Services were under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
