He was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Ava Carrol Dean Swearengin, age 66, of Sparta, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2006. He was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Ava, the son of Alma and Tressie (Nelson) Swearengin. On May 20, 1963, he and Charlene Larson were united in marriage.
Mr. Swearengin retired from Consumers Warehouse. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Ava.
He was loved and will be missed by his family.
Survivors include, a son, Harold Swearengin, and daughter-in-law, Tina, Sparta; a daughter, Patricia Carr, and son-in-law, Glenn, Nixa; four grandchildren, Aaron Dean Carr, Danny Russell Carr, Austin Ray Swearengin and Erica Dawn Hanafin; a brother, Gene Swearengin, Ft. Worth, Texas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
His wife, Charlene, passed away in 1994. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Helen Swearengin.
Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 17, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Carl Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Swearengin Cemetery, Douglas County.
