Born Feb. 8, 1920 Edna Connelly, the daughter of Tillman Garland and Nellie (Pierson) Garland, was born Feb. 8, 1920 in Denver, Ark., and departed this life Feb. 9, 2006, at the age of 86.
Edna was a resident of Baxter Springs, Kan. for the past 35 years moving from the Ava area. Edna was in home health care and was a member of the First Baptist Church Hockerville, Okla. Edna loved her family and enjoyed gardening. Edna was married to Ivan Sullivan and later to Patrick Connelly in 1963, in Oklahoma.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and a son, Garland Sullivan.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Sullivan, La Porte, Texas, and Phillip Connelly, Talala, Okla., seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Howard Garland, Springfield; four sisters, Mrs. Iris Frye, Ava, Mrs. Cloda Hendrickson, Bolivar, Mrs. Jean Hunter, Springfield and Mrs. Kate Frye, Cabool; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the Huffman Cemetery.
