Born on Aug. 22, 1927 in Smallett Bobbie Louise Sanders, daughter of Hershel S. Taber and Gladys Lucile Gentry Taber, was born on Aug. 22, 1927 in Smallett, and went to her heavenly home on Feb. 10, 2006, in Springfield, in Maranatha Village, at the age of 78.
Bobbie was a life long resident of the Ava community. She went to grade school at Walnut Grove and later graduated from Ava High School. On March 2, 1944, she married Raymond Sanders and to this union two daughters were born. She was retired from Rawlings Sporting Goods where she worked many years. After her retirement she worked part time with Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava.
Bobbie was a member of the First General Baptist Church, Ava where she had led the choir. Bobbie loved her family, her home and was devoted to her church.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Maxine Mallars and Diane Taber Reed, and the father of her children, Raymond Sanders.
Her survivors include two daughters, Donna Morgan, Springfield, and Gayle Wilson and husband, Bill, and two grandsons, Tyler and Trevor Wilson, all of Whittier, Calif.; one brother, Leon Taber and wife, Billie Jean, Ava; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
