He grew up in Douglas County Howard R. Spurlock, 90, passed away at his home in Springfield, Mo., Sunday night, Feb. 5, 2006. He grew up in Douglas County, son of Robert (Bob) Spurlock and Rosa McFarlin Spurlock, now deceased.
Survived by his sisters in Ava, Elizabeth (Wilson) Guthery, and Gerry Degase; a brother, Norman Spurlock, Story City, Iowa; and many other relatives in Douglas County.
Howard spent most of his married life in Springfield, where he raised his family.
