Born on Oct. 7, 1922, in Douglas County Jesse V. Davis, son of Neal Davis and Bertha Brown Davis, was born on Oct. 7, 1922, in Douglas County, and departed this life on Jan. 2, 2006, in Ava Place, Ava, at the age of 83 years.
Jesse was a resident of the Ava Place since its beginning.
He was a graduate of Valley Nebraska High School. He was a truck driver and also worked in construction. He spent his adult life in many parts of the U.S.A., including Alaska.
Jesse was an Army veteran and served his country in World War II. He loved visiting with all his friends and family. Jesse was a Christian.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lloyd Davis, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Flynn.
He is survived by three sisters, Wilma (Davis) Flynn and Geraldine (Davis) Hailey and husband, Edwin, all of Ava, and Barbara Jean Mitchell and husband, Clint, Broken Arrow, Okla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m., at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday.
The family requests memorials be made to Community Hospice or Ava Place.
