Born Feb. 21, 1929 in Ava Ruth Potter the daughter of John Raymond David Harnden and Vida V. (Spurlock) Harnden was born Feb. 21, 1929 in Ava, and departed this life Dec. 23, 2005 in Forsyth, at the age of 76.
Ruth grew up in St. Louis and Ava community. She was a resident of Bradleyville, for the past 38 years. Ruth had worked as a manager in Famous Barr Clothing Store and managed a restaurant in Bradleyville. She retired from Hagale Industries.
On Dec. 4, 1961 Ruth and Claude Ralph Potter were united in marriage in Miami, OK. Mr. Potter preceded her in death Aug. 11, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, John Harnden and a nephew.
Ruth loved her cats, enjoyed listening to the radio and going into town and visiting.
Ruth is survived by close friends, Denise and Joey Aldridge and son, Bobby, Forsyth; several nieces and nephews, Rick, Phil and Jeff Harnden, Jayma Potter, Monty Valentine, Pamela Caswell, Shurdena, LaRaine and Lacey Evans; sister-in-laws, Earlean Evans and Sue Valentine; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Bill Austin officiating.
