Ruth C. Bolte, 90

Born March 7, 1915 God reached down and gently lifted Ruth Caroline Bolte, 90, of Ava, Missouri, up to Heaven on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005.

She was born March 7, 1915, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Fred and Caroline (Willrath) Sauerteig. On July 24, 1944, in Spokane, Wash., she was united in marriage to Armin G. Bolte and to this union three children were born.

After raising her children, Ruth began working for L. E. Reynolds Insurance Company in 1966, and was later employed with State Farm Insurance, retiring in 1980. Ruth led a rich Christian faithful life and was a positive influence on her friends and family. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a warrior for Jesus Christ, her Friend and Savior. She enjoyed serenity and beauty of her country home and always felt surrounded in the presence of God with her daily Bible devotions. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Armin in 1974, one son Jim Bolte, one brother Frederick Sauerteig, and one sister Laura Sauerteig.

In passing, she leaves wonderful memories. She is survived be her two daughters Barbara Holmes and husband, Larry, of Seymour, and Beth Butcher and husband, Stephen, of Sikeston; a daughter-in-law Mary Bolte, of Ava; nine grandchildren Joy, John, Mark, Wendy, Chris, Bill, Bob, Aimee, and Stephen; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Alice Sauerteig, of Indianapolis, Ind.; two nieces Carolyn Crawford and husband Jay of Pacific, and Margaret Clayton and husband Stuart of Granville, Ohio; and her church family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday), in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Dana Mark Wilkie officiating. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery.

Visitation was held Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
