Born April 26, 1939 in Augusta, Kan. and raised near Ava Wilma Jeanne (Adams) Fossett passed away this past Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at the age of 66, following a battle with leukemia and a recent surgery.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Fossett; her children, Alan Fossett, Leon Fossett, and Gwen Dean, grandchildren, Leon Fossett,. Jr., Shaun Fossett, Amy Fossett, Rachel Dean and William Dean; and her great-grandson, Nathan; she is also survived by her mother, Willene Adams; her brothers, Adrian, Robert, Stanley, Howard, and David; and her sister, Irene Swearingen.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charley Adams, and brother, Chuck Adams.
Wilma was born April 26, 1939 in Augusta, Kan. and raised near Ava. She moved to Corcoran, Calif. in 1957 to live with her brother, Adrian and his wife, Wanda, and met her husband, Lawrence Fossett, while living and working there.
After they married (Nov. 7, 1959) they lived for a time in Corcoran and on the Fossett family farm near Waukena. In 1966 they moved to Martinez, Calif., and then to Antioch, Calif. in 1969. They lived there until they both retired, then moved to Los Osos, Calif. in 2003.
Wilma was converted at an early age and joined the Red Bank Baptist Church. She was a 1957 graduate of Ava High School.
Services were held Friday, Oct. 28, at l:30 p.m. at the Bledsoe-Peoples Funeral Home in Corcoran, Calif. A graveside service followed in the Corcoran Cemetery.
