Born March 20, 1913 in Willhoit, Mo. Zella Fay Naugle, the daughter of of Encil Grover Harley and Sina Francis (Loftis) Harley, was born March 20, 1913 in Willhoit, Mo., and departed this life Oct. 28, 2005 at the age of 92.
Zella was a resident of Springfield for the past 12 years, moving from Ava. She was a resident of the Ava and Romance area for most of her life, where she worked as a sales clerk and manager of the retail stores.
On June 5, 1932, Zella and Nicholas (Nick) Ralph Naugle were united in marriage at Barren Fork, Mo. Zella and Nick were blessed with a daughter, Marcella.
Zella was a member of the Ava Church of Christ prior to moving to Springfield where she attended the Sunset Church of Christ. She was a member of the All Church Singles Group in Springfield. Zella was an avid bowler and loved flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Greater Springfield Women’s Bowling Association and United States Bowling Congress.
Zella was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, and also her special pet poodle “Muffie.”
Her survivors include her daughter, Marcella Bilyeu, Springfield; special daughter, Nancy Mills, Springfield; a sister, Floy Mae Herndon, Quincy, Calif.; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Zella was loved by all who knew her.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Joe Bright and Harlin Howerton officiating. Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday from 9 a.m. to service time.
