Died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005 Emmett Welch Jr., 80, of Milledgeville, Ga., died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005.
Mr. Welch was a native of Farmington, Mo., and had made his home in Milledgeville, Ga., for a number of years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in World War II. He was a retired Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, having been stationed in Ava and Festus.
He attended the Island Creek Baptist Church in Milledgeville and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crystal City, Mo.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Davis, of Atlanta, Ga., and Barbara Hense, of St. Louis; one son, Stephen Welch, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Katherine Crider and Ruth Bayless, both of Farmington; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, Ga., with burial following under the direction of Williams Funeral Home and Crematory, Milledgeville, Ga.
