Daughter of Decater Burleson and Ida (Delbeck) Burleson, was born July 16, 1912 Ruby Delena Philpott, the daughter of Decater Burleson and Ida (Delbeck) Burleson, was born July 16, 1912, and departed this life Sept. 30, 2005, at the age of 93 years.
Ruby was a lifelong resident of the Seymour area. Feb. 10, 1931, Ruby and James Ernest Philpott were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union a son was born. Ruby was a housewife and a member of the Pentecostal Church. She was converted in 1935, in a little church at Dogwood, Mo.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; three brothers; and her husband, James.
Ruby is survived by one son, Jack Philpott, Rogersville; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; one sister, Verda Hartley, Wichita, Kans.; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Services were Monday, Oct. 3, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Interment followed in the Denney Cemetery.
