Melinda Jane Kinyon, 54, of Chadwick, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, in Manor Care, Springfield. She was born May 29, 1951, in Chadwick the daughter of Ermel and Clara (Marlin) Finney. On June 27, 1968, Melinda was united in marriage to Steve Kinyon and to this union four children were born.
Melinda was a kind, loving, thoughtful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and sewing. Most of her life she resided in the Chadwick area and was employed at Third Street Sports Wear for 15 years.
Melinda is survived by her husband, Steve; her mother Clara Finney of Chadwick; two daughters Carlene Roberts and husband, Chris, and Angie Kinyon, all of Chadwick; two sons, Mike Kinyon and wife, Tabitha, of Springfield, and Marvin Kinyon and wife, Tamara of Jacksonville, Mo.; three brothers Dale, Daniel and David Finney; two sisters Wanda Gideon and Sue Peterson; 16 grandchildren, other caring relatives and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, Phillip Finney, and one grandson, Kobby Michael Kinyon.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in Union Chapel Church of Chadwick, with Pastor Bill Austin officiating under the care of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
Visitation and family time was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Barnes Family Funeral Home.
