Johnny Calvin Davis, 79

Died at his home Sept. 22, 2005. Davis was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Ava, and was the son of Warren C. and Julie A. Bearden Davis. Johnny Calvin Davis, 79, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died at his home Sept. 22, 2005. Davis was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Ava, and was the son of Warren C. and Julie A. Bearden Davis.

Davis was an Army veteran of World War II. He served in Germany for two years. After the war he became a carpenter and cabinet maker. He married Wanda Jean Riley in Bentonville, Ark., on March 1, 1993. He was a member of the Springdale chapter of the Audubon Club and was a square dancer. Davis was also a member of various bridge clubs where he played and taught bridge.

He is survived by a sister, Ella Hutchison, of Ava; four children, Cheryl Pakzad, of San Diego, Calif., Colleen Lienen, of Davenport, Iowa, Layne Davis, Loveland, Colo., and Tom Davis, Inman, S.C.; three stepchildren, Darryl Visser, Elizabethtown, Tenn., Greg Visser, Butler, Tenn., and Vicki Gemmell, Capibella, S.C.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.
