James “Moe” Cooper, 77, Springfield, was born Aug. 17, 1928, and passed away at 1:10 a.m., Sept. 7, 2005, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.
He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He stopped at nothing to ensure his family’s happiness. His door was always open to a person in need, be it a friend or a total stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E. H. and Dezzie Cooper; and one brother, Cleo Cooper.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Cooper; daughter, Terri and husband, Jim Snow; son, Mark Cooper and son, Mike Cooper and wife, Nigel; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Della Rutherford, Fayetteville, Ark., and Gay Freeman, Dallas, Texas; and one brother, Bob Cooper, Ava.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 10, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial in White Chapel.
