Truman John Loesch, the son of Charles Loesch and Kate (Garrison) Loesch, was born May 17, 1929 in Cole County, Missouri, and departed this life Aug. 22, 2005 in Springfield, at the age of 76.
Truman was a resident of the Ava area for the past 20 years moving here from Kansas City. He was employed as a lineman with General Motors for 34 years and a member of AA for 15 years. On Aug. 9, 1948, Truman and Erma Jean McKinney were united in marriage in Cole County, and to this union two daughters were born. Truman was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Truman was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Norvil; one granddaughter, Andrea Sawyers; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Montana Fleetwood.
Truman is survived by his wife, Erma Jean of the home, Ava; two daughters, Sharon K. Loesch and partner, Dean Williams, Ava, and Carol A. Riggs, Ava; five grandchildren, Tabetha Smith, Vanessa Wilson, Storm Maggard, Mandi Fleetwood and Gary Loesch; 15 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Joseph, Stephen, Sarah and Alexander Smith, Ronnie Jones, Tosh, Breanna, Robert Jr. and Evan Maggard, Kristan Wilson, Karrie and Kyle Maggard, Marcus and Brittany Cox; three brothers, Ralph Loesch, Victoria, Texas, Donald Loesch, Rocky Mount, and Robert Loesch, of Missouri; eight sisters, Ada Jones, Buena Park, Calif., Shirley Wekamp, Colorado Springs, Colo., Georgie Sipple, Florrissant, Leona Davis, St. Charles, Vera Gilpin, Jefferson City, Mary McKinney, Wentzville, Jerene Becthel, Eldon, Nora Propts, Norton Shores, Mich.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until service time.
