Lois Eleanor Allen the daughter of Forest Camp and Florence (Privett) Camp was born July 3, 1922 in Douglas County, Missouri and departed this life Aug. 20, 2005 at the age of 83.
Lois was a life long resident of the Ava area. March 19, 1943 Lois and Chester Allen were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union two daughters were born. Lois was a member of the Church of Christ and did volunteer work for the church. She also worked as a dietitian at the Ava nursing home for over 20 years. Lois loved her family and gardening.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents; and one brother, Lloyd Camp.
Her survivors include, two daughters, Pat Byrd and husband, Leonard, Ozark; Janice Young and husband, George, Ava; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one step great-great granddaughter; one brother, Duane Camp and wife, Pat, Sedalia; a sister-in-law, Allene Camp, Ava; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Harlin Howerton and Brad Smith officiating. Interment was in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday at 10 a.m. to service time.
