Lewis Herman Huff, 93 years, was born Oct. 7, 1911, in Ava. He passed away on Aug. 17, 2005.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anglo and Gertrude Turner Huff; two brothers, John Huff and Maynard Huff; two sisters, Evelyn Whittenburg and Betty McGuire; a daughter, Vada Lee Graham; and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Elsie Sellers Huff, of the home; two daughters, Sue Bacorn, of Springfield, and Lucille Jenkins and husband, Tony, of Ava; a brother, Junior Huff and wife, Marie, of Ava; two sisters, Mary Whitworth, of Colton, Calif. and Velma Conklin, of Ashland, Oreg.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Lewis was a lifelong farmer and loved fox hunting and being with family. He was an avid checker player winning many tournaments.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the Ava Cemetery.
