Deborah Gail Clemens, 54

Deborah Gail Clemens, daughter of James Calvin Covin and Joyce Dorothy Terrell Covin, was born on Nov. 13, 1950, in Pasadena, Texas, and passed away in her home at Ava, from a long illness at the age of 54 years.

Deborah was a housewife and had been a resident of the Ava community for the past few years. She was a member of the Girdner Church. Deborah had received her PhD in Egyptian science at Louisiana State University (LSU).

On July 4, 1999, Deborah and Ronald Clemens were united in marriage at Girdner, near Ava.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Her survivors include her husband, Ronald Clemens of the home; one son, Cole Goodwin and wife, Amy, Springfield; one daughter, Sharon Moore, Houston, Texas; her mother, Joyce Dorothy Terrell, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Lonnie Covin, Dallas, Texas, and James Covin, Houston, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava.
