Brenda Kay (Suggs) Middlekauff the daughter of Harlan Ellis Suggs and Josephine (Hicks) Suggs, was born Aug. 20, 1962, in Mansfield.
Brenda has been missing for three years and was found July 2, 2005. Her death was due to a homicide.
For the past 20 years Brenda has been a resident of Bend, Ore., and was a former resident of Ava. Brenda was employed by Fred Meyers Dept. Store as a cashier and in the nursery department.
In August 1979 Brenda and Clyde Hill were united in marriage in Mtn. Grove. They were married for 20 years and he preceded her in death.
Brenda was a Christian and attended church in Bend, Ore.
Preceding Brenda in death were her father; her husband; and one sister, Patricia Harvey. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, William Nuel and Tellie Ann Hicks, William Ellis and Effie Elizabeth Schofield, and one nephew, Kevin Lee Suggs.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Josephine Suggs, Houston, Texas; three stepchildren, Clyde Alan Hill and Charlene Joy, both of Idaho, and Rhonda Grace, of California; seven step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Lou Caudill, Ava, Rita S. Ege, Ozark, Dorothy Phillips, Bruner, and Linda Medlock; four brothers, Richard Lynn Suggs, Plentywood, Mont., Robert Lee Suggs, Cowgill, Mo., William Ellis Suggs, Houston, Texas, and Earl Edward Suggs, Ava; a brother-in-law, Leo Hill, Mtn. Grove, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Robert Grisham officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Carole Sund Memorial Reward Foundation at the funeral home.
