Donald M. Turner, of Peoria Heights, Ill., passed away at 5:58 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at Manor Care Health Services in Peoria.
Born Oct. 8, 1928 in Squires, to Homer and Mary (Spurlock) Turner, he married Wanda J. Miller in Mountain Home, Ark. on June 6, 1949. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lori A. Turner of Peoria, Ill., and Lisa (Steven) Rager, of Tremont, Ill.; four grandchildren; one brother, Ed Turner of Squires; five sisters, Charlene (Delbert) Tellor of East Peoria, Ill., Annette Clayton, Squires, Mary Lou (Bill) Hodges, Ava, Josie (Jerry) Adamson, Mansfield, and Sandra (Terry) Clopper, of Farmington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald worked as an engine inspector for the Caterpillar Tractor Company at the Mossville Plant, retiring in July of 1991 after 40 years of service.
He was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Mossville, Ill.
Cremation has been accorded.
Memorial services were at 6 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Groveland, Ill. Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services in East Peoria, Ill., was in charge of arrangements.
