Versal Leone Hill, daughter of Hobart Gentry and Bess Hunt Gentry, was born on Oct. 13, 1909, in Douglas County, Mo., and passed away on June 15, 2005, in Glenwood Nursing Home in Seymour, Mo., at the age of 95.
Versal was a housewife and resident of the Ava community for several years. On July 30, 1930, Versal and Roscoe H. Hill were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union one son was born. Versal loved gardening and bird watching. She was a member of the Ava Full Gospel Church.
Versal was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roscoe; one son, Marvin Wayne Hill; and a brother, Harry Gentry.
Her survivors include cousins, Arthur Allen, Ava, Larry Allen, Cabool; and many other cousins and friends.
Graveside services are Friday, June 17, at 2 p.m., at the Ava Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Memorials can be made to the Douglas County Library.
