Stanley Scislowicz, 86

Stanley Scislowicz was born on April 15, 1919, in Krakow, Poland, the son of Eleanor Scislowicz, and departed this life in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 86 years. Stanley spent most of his youth in Poland before immigrating to the United States and Chicago. In December of 1956, he married Josephine Kwiczen.

Stanley spent most of his working life in the Chicago area where he was a welder and maintenance man for the railroad, several years before he retired he bought prop-erty in the Ava area planning for retirement. In 1976, he fulfilled that dream with other members of his family following.

Stanley is survived by two sons and one daughter, Leonard and his wife, Wendy Scislowicz, of Ava, Marian Scislowicz, of Krakow, Poland, and Theresa Razo, of Chi-cago, Ill.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Stanley was preceded by his wife, Josephine; an infant daughter, and his mother.

Stanley was an honest man who liked gardening, growing fruit, walking in the country, a nice Polka and playing with his grand-children.

Memorial service will be Thurs-day (today), May 19, at 1 p.m., at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Ava. Cremation services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
