Dorothy Davis died May 6, 2005, at the home of her daughter, Laura N. Krantz, of Ava.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., May 10, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Chapel, Ava, with Rev. Tom Maple officiating. Burial was in Goodhope Cemetery.
Born May 3, 1911, at Oldfield, Mo., she was the daughter of Minda B. Nelson and Laura M. Nelson. She married Sam M. Davis, Dec. 24, 1926.
She was a resident of Ava since 1970, except for a brief period in the nursing home in Garden City, Kans., she has lived with her daughter, Laura N. Krantz, since July 2001, of Ava.
She is survived by her twin sister, Ortha M. Short McHaffie; one daughter, Laura N. Krantz, of Ava; and a son, Jerry R. (Sherry) Davis, of Florence, South Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 38 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam M. Davis; one daughter, Betty Lou Kells; a son, Gary Richard Davis; two brothers and four sisters.
She was a member of Goodhope Nazarene Church.
