Mary Joann Woodard, the daughter of the late Eugene and Letha Metcalf Elliott, was born in Brushy Knob, Mo, on June 13, 1956, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, April 23, 2005, at the age of 48 years.
She had been a resident of the Springfield area for many years and moved to Dexter in 1995. She was employed at Tyson Foods in Dexter and was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter.
On Feb. 2, 2001, she was married to Paul Woodard in Dexter.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Woodard, of Dexter; two daughters, Jennifer Calhoun, of Houston, Mo., and Tracy Rayburn, of Wappapello, Mo.; three grandchildren; five brothers, Don Elliott, Mansfield, Kenneth Elliott, Norwood, Roy Elliott, Poplar Bluff, Dwight Elliott, Oakwood, Ga., Richard Elliott, Ava; two sisters, Virginia Bell, Mtn. Grove, and Juanita Harwell, Poplar Bluff; other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held today, (Thursday, April 28) at 10 a.m. in the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter, with Bro. John Ruddick of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will be at a later date in the Evansdale Cemetery in Evans, Mo., with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
