Carla Jo Branstetter, the daughter of Carl Von Deeds and Mary Belle (Kester) Deeds, was born Feb. 21, 1958, in Springfield, and passed away in an auto accident on April 14, 2005, in Springfield, at the age of 47.
Carla was a resident of Springfield but was raised in Ava. On July 21, 1982, Carla and Rick Branstetter were united in marriage and to this union two children were born. She was a member of the Seminole Baptist Temple in Springfield. She also was a member of the Bissett PTA. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, cooking and creating scrapbooks. Her love and joy in her life was being a wife and mother.
Carla was preceded in death by her father, Carl Deeds, in 1991.
She is survived by her husband, Rick, of Springfield; two children, Matthew and Katelyn Branstetter, of the home; her mother, Mary Belle Deeds, Mansfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Lonna and Vince Akers, Ava; her in-laws, Glenn and Janet Branstetter, Ava; sister-in-law and husband, Janice and Terry Long, Willard; nephew Dustin Long; two nieces, Heather Long and Alyssa Akers; and many other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 18, at Seminole Baptist Church, Springfield, with Pastor Don Baier officiating. Visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Interment was at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Memorials can be made to the Carla Branstetter Memorial Fund for the education of their children, through Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, or Community Financial Credit Union in Springfield.
