Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Baxter County, Ark., to Harley and Ruby (Long) Jackson. Raymond “Carl” Jackson, 72, of 631A 23rd St., La Salle, died at 7:12 a.m., March 26, 2005, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.
Private funeral services will be held following a cremation with burial in Ava Cemetery, Ava. Arrangements are through Mueller and Pagani Funeral Home, La Salle.
Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Baxter County, Ark., to Harley and Ruby (Long) Jackson. He married Rita Filipiak on Oct. 31, 1953, in Ottawa, Ill.
He was a mechanic for 55 years and spent many years working at Auto Trans Service in Ottawa.
Survivors include his wife, Rita, of La Salle; three sons, Jerry Jackson, of La Salle, Terry (Julie) Jackson, of Minnesota, and Gary Jackson, of Iowa; one daughter, Linda (Robert) Boutwell, of Florida; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Luther, and wife, Hazel Jackson, of Ava; four sisters, Jewell Jones, of the Kansas City area, Retha, and husband, Carl Clements, of Ava, Helen, and husband, Larry Kauffman, of the Kansas City area, and Betty, and husband, Willie Jones, of Ava; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
