Floyd Allen "Pete" Hartley, 86

Floyd Allen “Pete” Hartley, 86, Ava, passed away at 12:45 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2005, in Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center where he had been a resident for two years. He was born May 5, 1918, at Arno, Mo., to Lee and Eva (Wheeler) Hartley.

On May 5, 1939, he married Geraldine Haden, and to this union one son was born.

Pete was a farmer and a carpenter. He also worked for the Raymond McDaniel Company for 10 years, building farm-to-market roads, and Stafford Appliance Store in Ava for 15 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; both parents; two brothers, Merle and Jack Hartley; and a special aunt, Maudie Neice.

Pete is survived by his son, Leonard and wife, Evelyn, Jamesport, Mo.; a special niece, Nellie White, Springfield; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Hartley, Oklahoma City, Okla.; three nieces; one nephew; other relatives; and many friends.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, at the Arno Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Arrangements were under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ava.
