Wanda (Miller) Haynes, the daughter of Hermie Miller and Angie (Workman) Miller, was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Douglas County, and departed this life March 15, 2005, at the age of 85.
Wanda was a lifelong resident of the Ava area. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Wanda had a great sense of humor. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava.
On Jan. 4, 1951, Wanda and James Lawrence Haynes were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, Ark. Mr. Haynes preceded Wanda in death on March 31, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Retha Norris, a granddaughter, April, and one infant son.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Warrick, Rogersville, Larry Haynes, Tulsa, Okla., and Mark Haynes, Branson; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bryan, Alyssa, Timothy and Rebecca; one great-granddaughter, Mikayla; two brothers, Joe Miller and Lawrence Miller, both of Ava; a beloved niece, Connie Holobaugh, Ava; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Maples officiating. Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Disabled American Veterans.
