Darrell Wayne Small, son of Charles Alvin Small and Opal Mazel Johnson Small Salvey, was born on Sept. 27, 1939, in French Camp, Calif., and passed away on March 12, 2005, in Ava, at the age of 65 years.
Darrell was a resident of Ava for the past eight years, moving from Houma, Louisiana. He was a Veteran and served his country in the U. S. Air Force. In 1973, Darrell and Joan Halliwell were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nev. Darrell was a truck driver. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #3748 of Ava. He liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed NASCAR.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home in Ava; two sons and their spouses, Darren and Kim Small and Lanny and Mona Small, all of Houma, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Dustin, Christopher, Brooke, Gabrielle Small, of Houma, Louisiana; one sister and her husband, Sharon and David Dennie, Corpus Christi, Texas; three nieces, Judy Shields, Ava, Teresa Hadler, Irvine, Calif., and Michelle Mirabella, Riverside, Calif.; great nephews, Justin, George and Thomas; and one great-niece, Justyne; and other relatives and friends.
Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
