Alvin Earl Spring, 64

Alvin Earl Spring, son of Fred Bernard Spring and Nellie Lea (Nicholson) Spring, was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Ava, and departed this life March 15, 2005, at the age of 64 years.

Alvin was a lifelong resident of the Ava area. Alvin served his country with the U. S. Army from 1960 to 1963. March 17, 1973, Alvin and Patricia L. Rhodes were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union two children were born. He had been employed with Emerson Electric in Ava for over 20 years. Alvin enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and hunting and being with his family and friends.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Patricia, of the home in Ava; one son, Terry Spring; and one daughter, Penny Spring, both of Ava; three brothers, James Spring, Rochelle, Ill., Ernest Spring, Tigard, Oregon, Fred J. Spring, Wichita, Kans.; two sisters, Velma Spring, Ava, and Mildred Provost, Springfield; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, March 17, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Interment will follow in the Fannon Cemetery.
